Murphy finds a nice warm place for a snooze

Here are some photos of the Charcoal Burn that took place at the Woodfest 2008.


The wood is split ready to go into the kiln Watch out for the mad axe woman! The kiln is loaded Meike and John are running the show Rob begins the burn A safety fence is erected around the kiln - it's going to get hot! Murphy finds a nice warm place for a snooze Cheese! The heavy horses from The Working Horse Trust were a star attraction - giving cart rides to visitors We also roped them in to do some woodland work for us. Dave doing a bit of weaving. Make sure you leave a door Dave! Many local craftspeople displayed their wares at the show The Great Northwood Bowmen put on a great show They entertained the crowds with a play And impressed the crowd with their archery skills Time to open the kiln Rob gets his space suit on! The lid comes off Looks like good charcoal The chute is attached to the kiln The ACT charcoal bags are ready to be filled That big back will collect the dust and small bits leaving only the good stuff to be bagged up Rob gets in to start shovelling the charcoal onto the chute The charcoal will come down the chute and all the good stuff ends up in the bags ready to sell IMG_0094
